Follow on Google News | Exodus Place is Working to Get War Veterans off the Streets and Needs Your HelpExodus Place is devoted to getting homeless military veterans off the street. One out of three homeless men are veterans. We want to lower that statistic, but we need your help.
By: Exodus Place Exodus Place is a transitional housing facility located on the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids. In August of 2009, local businessman Robb Munger, along with local churches, businesses and men from the homeless community, began the restoration of an old, 40,000 square foot correctional facility. Today, it is the largest transitional housing facility in Michigan, with 80 bedrooms and 95, once homeless, residents. The men who live at Exodus are offered affordable and stable housing, job placement and training, meals, counseling, and much more. At Exodus Place, we believe in “A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out”. We recently have had 38 homeless military veterans move into our building and would like to welcome even more. We currently have space for 30 more veterans, but do not have the financial support to buy more supplies, provide them with employment assistance, and give them the other tools they need. We are hoping that with the gracious contributions from people who believe in this cause, and who believe that the men who fought for this country deserve to have a place to live, we will be able to restore hope and faith where it has been lost. We are asking, this holiday season, for you to find it in your heart to donate to these brave men, and give them a chance to get their lives back. After all they’ve done for us, can’t we do something for them? Visit www.ExodusPlace.org to learn more. End
