Local business rewards staff for long service

Four members of staff at motoring specialists Goldsmith & Allcorn, were given recognition this week for their loyalty and long service to the Uckfield and Heathfield-based business.

Four members of staff at motoring specialists Goldsmith & Allcorn, were given recognition this week for their loyalty and long service to the Uckfield and Heathfield-based business.

Ken Honess, Wendy Morris, Chris Brown and Diane Miles have an impressive combined total of 102 years of employment, with Ken leading the way with his 32 years of commitment to the company.

Sixty year-old Ken, from Bexhill, started at the company back in August 1980 as a technician and has worked his way up to the company’s workshop controller and senior MOT tester. His work at the Vauxhall dealership and car garage has seen him undertake hundreds of MOTS to date.

Wendy from Uckfield and Chris from Hailsham, both started in the parts department in 1991 and 1988 respectively, with Wendy currently working as the company’s full time workshop receptionist and Chris heading-up the trade side of the parts department.

Diane Miles started with the company in 1989 when the Heathfield branch first opened and has been service receptionist, bodyshop receptionist and is now customer care manager for the whole company as well as bodyshop receptionist.   Diane loves her job and enjoys her relationship with customers, many of whom she knows personally having lived in Heathfield for a number of years.
