The GSR Sport gas powered scooter holds a two-stroke, GPL290 29cc engine that offers 2.5 horsepower and can be tuned to add more power through aftermarket parts and engine tuning components. The small and efficient 29cc GPL290 motor provides the rider with speeds of up to 22 mph for a distance of approximately 21 miles and the scooter has a gas rating of roughly 80 miles to the gallon. The GPL290 motor is fastened to the patented heavy duty Chromoly aircraft grade steel 4130 seamless tube frame. The frame is mandrel bent to prevent weak points. There are no welds. The entire frame is one mandrel bent seamless tube that has the tensile strength of aircraft quality steel. The Centrifugal clutch enables the GSR Sport to freewheel as well as idle. Goped has researched many different gearings for this model and have found a ratio of 6:56 gearing to be ideal. The BMX style caliper brakes provide ample slowing and stopping power. The GSR Sport also comes with a signature style Goped wooden deck, aircraft grade 6061-T6 hardened aluminum handlebars, a dry weight of 24 pounds, 6" go-active solid rubber tires with Mach 12 polymer rims and a kick stand.
The owner and President of UrbanScooters.com, Frank Minero said, "I've been been selling Go-ped scooters for close to a decade and the GSR Sport is certainly one of our most popular models. The addition of the centrifugal clutch to the already popular Sport makes the GSR Sport much more attractive to older riders and any rider that thinks direct drive systems are a bit of a hassle."
