The group, known as Rated M for Marathon, is made up of local comedians and gamers, looking to give back. The multi-day event, broadcast live online, will attract an audience from around the globe as the five member team plays through much of the popular Elder Scrolls franchise. During the event audience members are encouraged to chat with the group, issue challenges and participate in raffles.
The two biggest prizes will be a pair of Wii Us that the group plans to raffle off on Sunday and Monday of the event. Tickets can be purchased for $5, with unlimited entries possible. The drawings will take place at 8:00 p.m. CST on Sunday and 12:00 p.m. CST Monday. Additional information about entering can be found at the group’s website, www.ratedmformarathon.org
Viewers will also have the ability to issue challenges to the participants for a small donation. “An event like this is all about audience participation,”
The group, founded in 2011, has raised more than $4600, from both online marathons and the recent Gaming Through History event hosted at Landmark Cinemas. “We’re always searching for new ways to benefit the charity,” says Fanning, “it’s a great cause, one we really believe in, and we’re honored to be able to be a part of it.”
