PRLog - Dec. 10, 2012 - Cyber diplomacy has emerged as a key skill needed in the continuously evolving practice of modern international relations.  Growing challenges in the cyber domain have significantly increased the need for these skills.  In addition, the fact that cyber diplomacy was identified in the five mandates in the recently released National Cyber Security Framework Manual published by NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.  Perhaps the most pressing aspect of cyber diplomacy is in the area of acts of cyber aggression that include cyber crime, cyber terrorism and cyber warfare.

Cyber diplomacy is a new foreign policy imperative for governments around the world.  It is the art and science that supports foreign policy goals and objectives, advance national interests, and enhances national security through mass electronic communications infrastructure that informs and influences foreign issues as well as enhancing, expanding and strengthening relationships between nations around the world.
