John J. Fox Was a Speaker for a Presentation Titled: “DWI & License Suspension Hearings”

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 10, 2012 - On September 21, 2012 defense attorney John Fox had the honor of being a featured speaker at a Continuing Legal Education presentation for young lawyers. The presentation was entitled: “DWI & License Suspension Hearings.” The CLE Seminar was called: CRIMINAL DEFENSE 101: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO PRACTICE IN COUNTY COURT. The seminar was sponsored by the San Antonio Black Lawyers Association.

The San Antonio Black Lawyers Association has been an integral part of the San Antonio legal community for over 30 years. The organization’s mission is to increase and support the presence of black lawyers in the San Antonio area, and to bridge the gap between local attorneys and the public through pro bono legal clinics, judicial candidates’ forums, as well as other charitable efforts made by the organization. The SABLA addresses racial disproportionality in the Texas foster care system, and it seeks to ensure the public has access to the best legal representation available in San Antonio. The SABLA provides attorney outreach programs, continuing legal education, and mentoring programs. They also work with St. Mary’s Law School to prepare future attorneys who will be practicing locally.

The purpose of this particular CLE seminar was to instruct newly practicing lawyers on the ins-and-outs of the County Court System in Bexar County. Attorney Fox was selected to speak, along with 8 other attorneys due to the length of time they had been practicing in San Antonio, and because of their demonstrated command over the topic areas they were chosen to address. Attorney Fox personally handles hundreds of driver’s license hearings every year on behalf of his own DWI clients and as a consultant for other San Antonio area attorneys.
