Each visiting student was handed a personalized schedule focused on their field of study and they and their families spent the day attending hands-on faculty workshops, taking a campus tour and eating lunch with current students. Come evening, the parents headed home or to hotels while students stayed overnight to discover what UAT campus life was like. This Fly-in Geek, UAT hosted a Game Jam where students participated in a timed challenged to build a video game. Students, current and visiting, formed teams of programmers, artists and other necessary skill types to create their best game within this sessions’ theme of “Space.” “We love opening our doors to parents and students during Fly-in Geek. It’s a great opportunity for families to meet our professors, stay overnight in our dorms, and gain first-hand experience into what its like to be a student here at UAT,” said President Jason Pistillo. Fly-in Geek is an opportunity for guests learn firsthand about our unique degree programs, tour our technology-infused campus, sit in on classes, eat in the campus café, and see campus life up close.
