Dec. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- AUSTIN – Dec. 10, 2012 – Continuum Analytics (http://www.continuum.io/index.html), the premier provider of Python-based data analytics solutions and services, today announced that registration for the PyData Silicon Valley 2013 conference is now open. Held March 18-20 in Santa Clara, Calif., the event will bring together developers, programmers, scientists and data analysts from the Python community to discuss techniques and tools for management, analytics and visualization of data – with a particular emphasis on big data and modern data problems. The call-for-speakers is open through Monday, Dec. 31. Potential presenters should send their abstracts and professional bios to pydataconf@continuum.io.

Due to the success of October’s PyData New York City 2012 (http://nyc2012.pydata.org/) and overwhelming demand from the Python community, Continuum expanded the PyData events to take place twice a year in different areas of the country. The New York show brought together 225 attendees and featured prominent scientists, CEOs and developers to deliver talks, tutorials and workshops on large-scale data management challenges impacting both science and industry. The conference closed out with a hack-a-thon sponsored and hosted by J.P. Morgan Chase. PyData New York City 2012 sessions can be viewed online here (http://vimeo.com/channels/pydata).

“While originating in the science realm, Python is quickly becoming one of the most widely adopted languages across industries,” said Travis Oliphant, CEO of Continuum Analytics and co-founder of PyData. “We have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback on the PyData conferences and a push to have them more often in other parts of the country. PyData Silicon Valley 2013 is slated to be the biggest conference yet – and be an event that is critical for any professional looking to take data management and exploration to the next level with Python.”

PyData Silicon Valley 2013 will take place from March 18-20 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. To register go to sv2013.pydata.org/.
