Dodge’s substantial donation to the American Red Cross took the form of 20 Ram 1500 Tradesman trucks and $100,000. This generous contribution could go a long way toward assisting in the massive undertaking of providing services to families and individuals who have been left reeling in the storm’s aftermath. The Ram Tradesman trucks will be used to mobilize both people and supplies, and will remain in the American Red Cross’s fleet of vehicles after the crisis has passed.
In a statement, Neal Litvack, Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross, said, “Through the generosity of its partners such as Ram and Chrysler Group, the American Red Cross is responding with shelter, food and emotional support, helping families and communities with their most critical needs now, and as they begin to move toward recovery.”
The storm’s biggest impacts were in New York and New Jersey, where massive relief efforts are underway. These efforts take the form of shelters and feeding sites, in addition to the distribution of food, water, and other supplies in emergency vehicles. The road to recovery is not expected to be short, but with the combined efforts of the American Red Cross, Dodge, and numerous other contributors, that path can become a little more manageable.
Help is still needed, though. Those who want to contribute to relief efforts can make a donation to the American Red Cross by visiting their web site or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. Any amount helps in these trying times.
