Dec. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The British School, New Delhi  celebrated the Primary School Book Week from 19 to 23 November. The theme for this year's book week was 'India'. This theme provided a wonderful opportunity to young students from different countries to explore and celebrate Indian books for children.

The week started with a dress-up day and students arrived to school as book characters. As a part of the book week celebrations, six prominent authors – Petr Horacek, Wendy Cooling, Roopa Pai, Michael Heyman, Anupa Lal and Aniruddha Sengupta visited the school. They engaged students of different age groups in a variety of workshops. The buzz and excitement generated was tangible!

The most special event of this year's book week was 'Grandparents Day'. Over 30 grandparents came to school to read stories and narrate anecdotes to the students. It was truly magical to have the older members of the community in school and the little ones listening so fondly to their stories.

The British School students also visited the annual Bookaroo festival to participate in different literary workshops. It was completely a fun filled week with grandparents reading, storytelling sessions, book sales, author visits and more!
