Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Opposition leader Tony Abbott, US President Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron have also been invited to participate in the worldwide event.
Big corporates are also getting behind the Punnky World High-Five-Athon day. Westpac, National Australia Bank, Business Chicks, Shopbot, EDM Marketing and Yelp Sydney will be giving high fives on the day to help spread happiness around the world.
Australian start-up business Airtasker are mobilising their 35,000 fast and friendly helpers all around the country to give high fives.
In a controversial move, Twitter has suspended the Punnky Twitter account for spreading too much happiness in a short period of time.
