IWI Launches ‘What I’ve Learnt’ Column

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 6, 2012 - London, UK – 6, December 2012 – International Women’s Initiative has launched a new monthly column on the Survivors' Blog. At the start of each month IWI Executive Director, Aubrey Shayler will share what she has learnt in the past month.

As December 1 was World Aids Day, the first article focused on this topic. Shayler states, “[c]ondoms, awareness, the cocktail: these were tools used to fight this curse.  Because of their struggles we now know that HIV/AIDS is not a gay disease, but a human disease that wears many faces.”

International Women's Initiative is a non-profit organisation which supports and works to strengthen women and women's community efforts across the globe. IWI is currently working on the Safe Birthing Programme, in collaboration with Hope Development Initiative. The programme aims to improve maternal health and infant mortality in the Amolatar district of Uganda.
