The app adds social sharing and a credit system to the list of features originally debuted in a beta version at October’s New York Tech Meetup. Users who recommend Sportaneous to friends are rewarded with credits to use toward classes, making the app a perfect way for friends to encourage each other to make fitness a part of their life in the coming year. Facebook integrations allows users to see which activities their friends have attended or marked as interesting. The app also allows users to share activities with their friends through Facebook, Twitter and email with one tap.
“We timed the launch of the Sportaneous app to coincide with the start of the new year to help people stick to their resolutions by discovering fitness classes in their area,” says Sportaneous Co-founder and CEO, Omar Haroun. “Sportaneous is a fundamentally social experience. We’re excited to help people stay motivated by sharing classes with friends.”
Sportaneous is available for free download in Apple’s App Store. Currently partnered with fitness facilities throughout New York City, Sportaneous hopes to expand to other cities in the coming year.
