Nephria Conducts Major Skincare Survey

Luxury skincare brand Nephria conducted a major skin care survey in several cities and towns and over several weeks, targeting the views and knowledge of a mostly female sample in their twenties and thirties.

PRLog - Dec. 5, 2012 - Luxury skincare brand Nephria conducted a major skin care survey in several cities and towns and over several weeks, targeting the views and knowledge of a mostly female sample in their twenties and thirties.

Charlotte Newbert Mills, founder of Nephria, says "The survey results are largely as I would have expected, but there are some areas that surprised me.  My challenge is to ensure Nephria provides the product results that our consumers want and need for their beauty and skin care regime."

From the key analysis, in summary, over 80% said they would not leave their house without feeling ‘good’ about themselves, specifically related to the state of their complexion and style of clothing.

Whilst over 70% knew much about exfoliation and the importance of a regular routine, less than half of all responders did not recognise the importance of a good quality Serum in their beauty regime.  Moisturisation was widely understood, but not how the skin is made up and what exactly are elastins and collagen.  Whilst this is not that unexpected, both terms are used extensively in advertising without being explained to the consumer.

Knowledge of specific ingredients was limited.  Barely 25% had any idea of what many ingredients named in major advertising campaigns actually are and what they achieved.  Also, the importance of preservatives was not widely known, as was what defines organic and natural products.

Charlotte added, “I feel it is now the responsibility of major manufacturers like us to educate and inform the high street consumer exactly what they are about to apply to their skin and complexion.  Additionally, we need to explain what certain ingredients can do and more importantly what they cannot.  We at Nephria are committed to working with our customers to ensure the path to a healthy skin and complexion can be expected and not just hoped for.”
