Since joining his first band aged 16, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Sky Murphy has been on the road for a decade playing a endless variety of styles with dozens of top bands. Now with his handpicked band of crack musicians: The General, Sky has been laying down his considerable backlog of material in Cable Street Records’ all-analogue studio. The Cable Street sound, combined with Sky's inimitable road-worn style, loosely entitled SURFBEAT, have created the unique new singles ENJOYMENT and REASON ON THE RUN, out now on iTunes and all other online music stores.
Started up by two friends last summer, Cable Street Records was created to provide a place for musicians to record, perform and distribute their music. The recording studio is stocked with analogue valve equipment, but it is also set up with Protools for digital recording. Equipment includes a Neumann U47, Otari 2" reel to reel tape machine and lots of valve amps and microphones. Music production, analog and digital mixing and mastering are also available.
