Mee healthcare launches its fifth new healthcare centre in Gravesend, Kent and pledges to donate 10% of the first week’s sales to charity

Dec. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- mee healthcare announces the launch of its fifth new centre tomorrow. The new 810 sq. ft. vision and hearing centre - ‘see mee’ and ‘hear mee’ - is located in the Sainsbury’s at Pepper Hill, Gravesend.  Dental care, ‘dental mee’; and wellbeing care, ‘wellbeing’ mee - will be launched at the centre in the coming months, providing high quality and affordable dental and wellness care, as well, to our patients. This latest opening takes the total number of mee health centres launched this year to five.

Dr Gail Lese, Founder, Chairman and CEO of mee healthcare, said:

“Following the strong demand for mee services and products at our first centres in Leeds, Ely, Cheltenham and Kings Lynn, I’m delighted we’re continuing to develop our relationship with Sainsbury’s and bringing mee healthcare services to Gravesend. Our centres are designed to provide our customers with access to essential healthcare services at affordable prices and in convenient locations, with extended opening hours.”

“mee healthcare provides state-of-the-art, one-stop clinics for health and wellness services and products. This represents a new approach to healthcare delivery, enabling customers to benefit from a range of services at affordable prices including hearing, vision, dental and health checks. By combining these services under one roof, mee healthcare aims to provide the highest quality customer service, and to support better and more efficient outcomes and earlier detection of underlying health issues for our patients.”

Dr Lese further commented:

“In addition, mee healthcare is committed to serving the people and the communities in which it operates. We are proud to confirm today, as we have done with other openings, mee Healthcare will be donating ten per cent of the first week’s trading turnover to two local charities.”

mee healthcare will be making donations to Alzheimer & Dementia Support Services (ADSS) www.alz-dem.org and the Gravesend Epilepsy Network (GEN) www.gravesendepilepsynetwork.com.

Jenny Wheeler, Business Manager, Alzheimer & Dementia Support Services (ADSS) said:

“We are always thrilled when support is offered by local businesses. It means a great deal to us as, with diminishing funding sources, fundraising can be an issue for all independent local charities. We support over 400 families in the Dartford, Gravesham, and Swanley areas and the need for our services is huge. In the last year alone we have developed six new projects working with people with dementia, their carers and local schools.”

Fred Savill, Chairman, The Gravesend Epilepsy Network (GEN) said:

“We welcome the generosity of mee healthcare as it is rare that we get donations such as this. Epilepsy is very much a ‘Cinderella’ of the health charities, possibly due to the distress of witnessing a seizure and the stigma that this generates. For over 30 years our unpaid volunteers have provided help, support & information to individuals and families affected by epilepsy. We offer a free counselling service at the local neurological outpatient clinics, run a helpline, give benefits advice, and provide literature to help people understand and live with the condition. Mee healthcare’s support will assist us to keep providing these local services.”
