St. Louis, MO — Author Patrick Dorsey didn’t set out to write an historical adventure about the legendary Knights Templar. “I was researching another project when I stumbled across an account of the Templar arrests,” said Dorsey. “And then I had this image, and the beginnings of a story that nagged at the back of my mind so much, I finally had to put the other project aside to write it.”
Released by St. Louis publisher Legendary Planet, GOD’S FORGE is the story of a small band of Knights Templar—the legion of monastic warriors that fought and held the Holy Land throughout the Crusades—who escape their Paris stronghold as it’s seized by royal troops. Led by Brother William, a disillusioned veteran of the Crusades, they flee into the night. Fighting and running, struggling to understand the world that’s turned on them, they cross paths with a brutalized young prostitute who ushers them toward dark truths about the city festering around them, about its rulers and the church they’ve sworn to defend--all in a race to escape that will leave the streets of Paris bloody and end the pursuit of these soldiers of God.
“The story is relevant to today,” said Dorsey. “It looks at how we treat those who return from war, and how the world treats those who are here to help--all wrapped in a rousing adventure of heroic fighters facing desperate odds.”
Added Publisher Evan Willnow, "It's a great book to launch our new fiction line and expand on the classic adventure offerings of Legendary Planet."
