“VINTAGE” Trend Puts Historic Amherstburg, Ontario on the Map

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 4, 2012 - Amherstburg is playing a leading role in the latest trend for all things ‘Vintage’ with a growing reputation as a centre for vintage collectables. The town has long been known for its antique shops, and the fashion for Vintage items, from the 1920s and 30s onwards is now becoming a further attraction for shoppers and visitors to this thriving town in Essex
County.

The latest addition to the Amherstburg vintage scene is a new business called Re-inspired Vintage which is located at 126B Richmond St. The charming little shop filled with unique one of a kind up-cycled furniture, home accessories and treasures from the past became a reality for owner Donna Grant after many trips to visit her daughter overseas. “Up-Cycling has become very fashionable in big cities like London, Paris and New York. So after a great deal of consideration Donna with the help of her daughter Jennifer, London based, repurposed jewellery designer of Pitou Preloved, decided to set up shop here in Amherstburg.

Since opening in September Donna has seen the business grow. “There is so much interest in all things Vintage”. Customers from all around the Essex County area are coming to the store and purchasing the one of a kind vintage item they have been seeking”. “The Amherstburg community has been particularly encouraging and are certainly doing their part to support small businesses in the area”. Donna is hopeful Re-Inspired Vintage recycling efforts will encourage the local community to embrace up-cycling and recognise the value in vintage items that would otherwise have been forgotten or ended up in landfill.

Re-Inspired Vintage is excited to announce their “Grand Opening” event on Thursday December 6th, 2012 between 5 -9 pm. They are inviting everyone to stop in, say hello and get some inspiration for all their Christmas shopping. Guests can expect lots of treats, refreshments, prize raffles, re-inspiration workshops and a generous 20% discount for all purchases made on the evening.
