WINTER PARK, Colo December 4, 2012--- There is no time to stay cooped up in the house during winter when the YMCA of the Rockies has three weekends of constant cold-weather activities that are fun for the whole family.
The YMCA of the Rockies (http://www.ymcarockies.org/
Families can spend either December 7-9 or December 14-16 with a full schedule along with lodging and meals from Friday to Sunday morning.
The first night comes complete with a roaring campfire with s’mores and singing and ends with a holiday film accompanies by popcorn and hot chocolate. The rest of the weekend is packed with activities. The whole family can make participate in a dog sledding presentation, play dodge ball, go square dancing and even be a contestant on their own version of a popular game show.
After the high-action fun, families can make arts and crafts, build gingerbread houses, watch “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and other holiday favorites snuggled up together with a warm drink. The YMCA of the Rockies holds Christian values dear, so there will also be a Sunday morning worship service for the whole group at the Whispering Pines Chapel.
The event is open to members and non-members of the YMCA. Children under 5 years old are free.
Santa needs everyone’s help in spreading the holiday cheer just days before Christmas. December 21-23 will be almost as good as opening presents when guests are greeted by Mr. Claus at check-in and can take part in a holiday carnival.
The next couple of days feature family fun including the Santa Fun Run, a “reindeer games” roller skating party, toy making craft shop and so much more. Everyone can come to the beloved Santa’s Ball and sing their hearts out with Christmas karaoke, win raffle prizes and learn a flash mob dance to perform at breakfast the next day.
At checkout, guests can gather up their self-made Santa hats, toys and other holiday crafts and say goodbye to Saint Nick before he leaves for the North Pole.
Reservations can be made at www.ymcarockies.org.
