The Governor covered issues generated by the national and state election results, emphasizing the that Statehouse now will be under democratic control in the House, the Senate and in the Governor’s office, resulting in some related challenges when there is not a balance between parties. Governor Hickenlooper then addressed questions from the audience regarding Amendment 64, remarking that it may be a bit early to break out the “Cheetos and Goldfish” as regulations will need to be addressed and the Federal illegality is still present. Mulligan’s business leader panel, with representatives from the small business, construction and infrastructure, banking and finance, energy, and healthcare industries, proceeded to examine the potential ramifications of the election results on their respective sectors and on the state as a whole.
