PRLog - Dec. 4, 2012 - Zippy Shell Northern Virginia Moving and Storage Helping in the Recovery

Washington, D.C. – December 4, 2012 – Zippy Shell USA, a leading mobile self storage and moving company, has rolled out several of its unique “shells” to help those who lost homes and belongings during Super Storm Sandy.  The Zippy Shell Northern Virginia (http://www.zippyshell.com/self-storage-moving-locations/virginia/northern-va/) location is donating the use of their portable storage containers as a collection point for household and holiday item donations.

A Zippy Shell container, parked at 21580 Demott Drive in Ashburn, Va., is accepting new, unwrapped, unopened, toys, books, wrapping paper, and other holiday related items until December 14. Zippy Shell also donated a second container that was parked outside The Front Page in Arlington at 4201 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Va., on Saturday, December 1.  That container accepted basic needs such as canned goods, clothes, diapers, and other household necessities.

Zippy Shell Northern Virginia Moving and Storage has been working with the Girl Scouts of America and DelawareCoastAid.org to help make the holidays a little better for storm victims. Families who are struggling to find housing and rebuild have little time to focus on buying gifts and making holiday cheer. Bill Shannon of Zippy Shell decided to help make a difference.

“Our local franchise operates portable storage and moving services (http://www.zippyshell.com/portable-moving-storage-contain...). We are uniquely suited to help charitable organizations accept donations, store and transport relief effort supplies and gifts,” said Shannon. “The Girl Scouts of America and DelawareCoastAid.org are working hard to support these hard hit communities and we wanted to partner with incredibly good people helping good people. Lots of families are desperate for the basic essentials and need to enjoy the holidays. We hope to make their lives a little easier through these donations.”

Shannon further commented, “Zippy Shell likes to support the organizations in our community that can reach out beyond the boundaries of our community and help others.”
