Follow on Google News | Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q and Catering Salutes Cobb Co. D.A. Pat HeadWilliamson Bros. Bar-B-Q and Catering will be hosting an event for a well deserving man. After 14 great years of service Mr. Pat Head will be retiring as District Attorney for Cobb County.
Since June 2002, Pat has been a member of the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia. He has been appointed to serve on the following committees by the President of the State Bar: the Advisory Committee on Legislation, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Indigent Defense Committee, the Overview Committee of the Office of the General Counsel, Advisor to the Disciplinary Rules and Procedures Committee, Formal Advisory Opinion Board and the State Code Revision Committee. Pat was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve on the Georgia Board of Public Safety in November 2003 and reappointed in January 2006. This Board is the oversight board for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Department of Public Safety (State Patrol) and Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Pat also served as an instructor for several years at the Basic Prosecutor’s Course conducted by the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia for new prosecutors. Pat has been active in various civic groups, and has worked with the American Cancer Society and the United Way in their fund raising efforts. He is currently active with those organizations, serving on the Advisory Board and Campaign Board for the United Way and is serving on the Committee for the American Cancer Society in Cobb County. For several years, Pat performed on a regular basis with former State Representative Bill Atkins and his band for various civic and charitable organizations such as the Girls Club, March of Dimes, and the American Cancer Society. Pat has also performed for various Church activities as well. In June 2006, and 2007 he participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association ride in Marietta. The retirement farewell will be hosted by Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q and Catering and will be held at Jim R. Miller Park and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the event that will consist of delicious barbeque, beer, wine, and some great music is a donation of $5.00. All proceeds will go to YWCA of Northwest Georgia, which is a charity that Pat has supported for many years and will continue to be an advocate for. End
