These diseases are caused due to non efficient measures to dispose garbage and waste products.” He added, “The Hanjer Green Run is a wake up initiative to spread message through this marathon to join Hanjer in saving the environment and improving public health by handling waste responsibility. We genuinely feel that the leading film personalities in Bollywood can play a major role in spreading the awareness. The Hanjer initiative is an ideal platform for the entire film fraternity in Mumbai to come together and deliberate on the important measures that need to be taken to protect the environment and the public health. We are grateful to Hon. Mayor of Mumbai Shri Sunil Prabhu and film personalities who are supporting this noble cause of creating awareness amongst citizens.”
Hanjer Green Run is an effort to effect a much needed change in the way people perceive waste and project it as a positive resource, which can yield precious value. Hanjer’s objective is to awaken the conscience within every citizen and make each one believe that change starts with a single person- you. These simple efforts from citizens can help keep the city cleaner and greener providing for a better quality of life, was their message to the audience.
As a part of its corporate social responsibility and to create awareness of correct disposal of waste, Hanjer has created ‘The Green Heart project’ which includes various community programs such as ‘Trash Bash- celebrating waste’, ‘Trash Buster- an educative game on waste segregation’
