Dec. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- December 3, 2012 - According to IBM Smart Commerce, smartphones and tablets accounted for 18% of total sales on Cyber Monday, up a full 70% from last year.

The iPad and iPhone alone accounted for 7% each, and Amazon.com reported the most Kindles ever sold in one day.

As the holidays approach, brand-new devices like the iPhone 5, the Kindle Fire, and the iPad Mini are sure to be among the most coveted gift items of the holiday season.

"These early holiday sales stats validate our existence," said Luke Peterson, CEO of splitzee.com (http://splitzee.com/). "Consumer electronics are the gift for 2012, but their expense can put them out of reach for some consumers. By offering a simple group gift tool where people can easily pool their money online to buy these items for their friends and family, we've enabled people to get and give what they really want."
