Striving for More Inc., Childhood Cancer Support, honors Travinia Italian Kitchen

Dec. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC - Diane Moore, Executive Director of Striving for More, a Triangle-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that children with cancer and their families, announces Childhood Cancer Support Award for Travinia Italian Kitchen.

Catherine Shireman, a Striving For More Board Member presented the award to Ira Freedman.

Striving For More, Inc. (http://www.striving4more.org) was founded by Diane Moore.  Diane Moore's passion for helping families is personal, as she lost her 9 year old daughter, Colleen, to Osteosarcoma in 2008.  After the Moore family's tragic experience, Diane noticed that there was an alarming lack of psychological and emotional support available in hospitals for children with cancer.  Striving for More is dedicated to ensuring that children with cancer and their families receive quality emotional and spiritual support.

Striving For More, Inc. provides UNC and Duke Children's oncology departments with the following programs:  Beads of Courage Program, Chemo Duck, Digital Art Therapy, patient support groups, Book Donations, Beads of Courage sibling program, Procedure Room Art Mural, Medical Play Dolls and other resources for parents.
