Dec. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Paulette McWilliams--You've heard her voice!! The iconic voice behind Michael Jackson on Don't Stop Til You Get Enough!!! Michael's biggest hit!! On Aretha Franklin's number one hit "Jump To It"! Billy Idol's number one hit "Mony Mony"!! Luther Vandross' "Stop To Love", "Superstar", "Wait For Love", and her contagious laugh and vocals on "Bad Boy/Having A Party"!! She has also performed with Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Bette Midler, Johnny Mathis, Lauryn Hill, Patti LaBelle, David Bowie and toured with Luther Vandross and sang all of the Tammi Terrell duets with Marvin Gaye on his last tour. http://www.paulettemcwilliams.com

You may recognize her name, and you have probably heard her voice hundreds of times. She has been the voice for so many TV and radio jingles for Coke, Pepsi, Folgers, McDonald's, Cadillac, United Airlines, American Express and many others.
Paulette's highly anticipated CD "Telling Stories", is a beautiful beginning to all to she's hoping for. Paulette McWilliams is finally sitting in the driver's seat and choosing her destination.
A Chicago native, McWilliams earliest memories of singing are with her mother. "Unlike a lot of singers that I know, I didn't grow up in the church. I went to Catholic school and grew up singing Jazz and Blues with my mom." The former original lead singer for Ask Rufus, before it was Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, McWilliams fondly recalls (forming and performing with the group that put this dynamic group on the map.) "...when I heard Chaka sing I felt it was my duty for everybody to know her and hear her sing. The group knew her as my friend but didn't know she was a singer, and when I was ready to leave after returning from a three-month trip through Europe and the South of France, I was done. I went to Chaka first and told her I was thinking about leaving and that I would love for her to take my place and I suggested her to the guys, because I thought she would be a perfect fit for the group. With reluctance at the time, they agreed only if I stayed to perform with Chaka on stage for two more weeks...Chaka was on her path. I was still searching for mine."
It was not too long after the split that she was introduced to Quincy Jones. Quincy made her his solo/lead singer for the Body Heat tour and introduced her on the Mellow Madness album which she co-wrote the title song. Quincy Jones stated it when they were together and, it is even more obvious today, that Paulette is truly a great singer. Johnny Mathis, Tom Scott, Cedar Walton, Roger Kellaway, and many others are big fans of Paulette McWilliams! Michael Buble heard the CD and said simply stated "It's Beautiful"! Noel Pointer, Luther Vandross, and Marvin Gaye were going to produce a record on Paulette before Mr. Gaye's untimely passing.
Paulette has performed many times on TV shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, David Letterman, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Arsenio Hall, Rosie O'Donnell and Good Morning America with artists including Luther Vandross, Barry White, Jennifer Lopez, Anita Baker and Mariah Carey.
Life's musical journey has come full circle for McWilliams. Paulette has paid "her dues" well, and she is finally beginning to reap the rewards it affords. She is taking control of her destiny. Her latest project, released on January 3, 2012, is a collaborative effort with long time colleague, Tom Scott, and is a labor of love that features a duet with the incomparable sultry voice of Mr. Will Downing. A cover of the Kool and the Gang hit "Too Hot."
"I believe that everything I've done in my life has brought me here. For the first time in my life I feel like I am on a path to really embracing the jazz singer that I am."

Paulette shares her solo work at her Aaron Davis Hall debut. "Telling Stories” with The Nat Adderley Jr. Quartet:
Vincent Herring – Reeds
Nat Adderley Jr. – Music Director & Piano
Vince Ector - Drums
Gregory Jones - Bass
