Maximo® performance problems are history with the new and improved Maximo Pack for StressTester™

Nov. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Reflective Solutions has now released Version 2 of the “Maximo Pack for StressTester™”, proven to be completely compatible with Maximo® 7.5. This new and improved version will automatically handle the most complex aspects associated with load and performance testing of a Maximo installation.­

The new Maximo Pack for StressTester significantly reduces the complexity and effort required to automate Maximo performance testing. With effort savings of well over 50%, users can now focus on replicating the required Maximo transactions accurately and in full, and not have to worry about writing complex script code to handle Maximo load testing. Along with the ease of use of StressTester, this new release makes performance testing of any Maximo installation significantly quicker and simpler.

What does the Maximo Pack do?

The newly released Maximo Pack for StressTester automatically handles and configures all of the Maximo hidden session variables, as well as the complex Maximo framework identifiers, which can cause great difficulty when trying to execute tests using other tools.

The Maximo framework does not refer to fields, buttons or selections by their names when sending data to the Maximo server, but instead refers to these and other items by an identifier (eg mx1234).

Traditionally, the problem with Maximo performance testing has been that Maximo changes these identifiers frequently. Recording a transaction, with any tool, would record the identifiers at the time of recording, but after a period of time, these test scripts would start to fail, due to the changing Maximo identifiers. In the past, the only solution to this problem was for testers to spend hours per transaction, writing complex scripts capable of dynamically working out the identifier that Maximo is using at the time.

Now that Reflective has released the Maximo Pack for StressTester, this is no longer the case – it is all handled automatically.

What else is included with the Maximo Pack?

The all new Maximo Pack for StressTester includes a selection of sample User Journeys for each version of Maximo, in order to help testers to see what these look like, and to allow simple performance tests to be executed in a matter of minutes.

Not only that, but we’ve also included our free guide - “Building User Journeys for Maximo” – a detailed guide on how to build User Journeys for your Maximo installation, and based on the extensive knowledge and experience of our consultants, gained through years of testing Maximo installations all over the world.

Comparison

Using other tools, Maximo performance testing can be incredibly complex, requiring extensive scripting for every identifier recorded, and there can be large numbers of these identifiers in every transaction. For example, LoadRunner supplies a 28 page document to outline how to execute performance tests for Maximo, with long and complicated instructions on the detailed scripts that need to be created for each transaction.

With the all new Maximo Pack for StressTester, there is no need for any of this time consuming and complex work, as everything is automatically configured and set up.
