Dental Merchants partners with leading UK Instrument Manufacturer

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 30, 2012 - Dental Merchants Limited (http://www.dentalmerchants.com), the UK based company established earlier this year to supply products to dental practices, continues to go from strength to strength! Initially set up to concentrate solely on the distribution of disposable and consumable supplies for dental practices, the company has now announced that it is expanding its range of products.

Rapid Growth

Despite having only been established within the past six months, Dental Merchants is growing rapidly and this week agreed a distribution deal with one of the most established manufacturers of surgical instruments in the world, S Murray and Co.

S Murray & Co. has manufactured high quality surgical instruments since 1948, following the acquisition of Sheffield-based manufacturers George Gill & Sons, who in turn had over 80 years’ experience of surgical instrument production. The subsequent acquisitions of Nowlin & Son in 1990 and Heeley Surgical in 1999 saw the range of manufactured instruments expand significantly and in 2003 the company relocated to a brand new, purpose-built, 10,000 square foot factory still in the Sheffield area. Although historically the firm has been primarily a hospital supplier, S Murray and Co. is keen to become the leading dental instrument provider for the UK.

Gaps in the market

‘We see a gap in the market and we feel that we can fill it,’ stated Jonathan Cotty, Director of Dental Merchants. ‘For too long this industry has been monopolised by a few large players who have continuously pushed up prices on quality disposables, consumables and instruments for dentistry. As a smaller outfit, we keep our overheads exceptionally low whilst supplying the highest quality goods at a more reasonable price. We have recently joined Twitter (https://twitter.com/DentalMerchants) but we mainly rely on word of mouth and offering a great service.’

With regards to the new distribution agreement Jonathan Cotty stated, ‘We are genuinely delighted to have agreed to become the distributor for the dental range manufactured by S Murray and Co. With a huge assortment of instruments and the ability to custom build anything that may be required, the quality and workmanship speaks for itself. Following careful research, we approached S Murray and Co. as we consider them to be one of the leading manufacturers of surgical instruments in the world, so it is a big coup for us to have become their sole UK distribution partner for their extensive range of dental instruments.’
