Lovering Volvo of Concord Continues to Support the Bids for Kids Holiday Auction

Nov. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Lovering Volvo of Concord will be joining the rest of the Nashua area community at the 26th Annual Bids for Kids holiday auction. The event will take place the evening of Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua. Proceeds raised by the auction will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua to help support their after-school activities programs. Since they began to support the organization in 1998, Lovering Volvo has given a total of $175,910 in donations, and this annual auction is one of the ways they are proud to contribute.

Besides the silent and live auctions, guests will also enjoy a cocktail reception, a surf-and-turf dinner, the mysterious Sparkle and Shine raffle, and the beloved Heads or Tails competition.

The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua helps to engage children during times when their parents may not be around, primarily during after-school hours. The club provides activities, games, companionship, and guidance to help children grow into responsible and caring members of the community.

Members of the Greater Nashua branch have access to a gym and pool, and the chance to participate in intramural and traveling sports teams. Children and teens can also take part in academically focused programs like Power Hour Homework Help and Career Launch, a set of personal wellness programs that help equip children with the help they need to avoid risky behavior, as well as programs that center around visual and performing arts. Funds raised at the Bids for Kids auction help to support these programs and keep the annual costs low — there are over 3,300 kids who take advantage of these programs every year.
