ED HARTWELL, Former NFL Linebacker, Actor, Business Owner, Fitness Trainer, Father, and Mentor, has been identified as “That Guy” that the world expects to continue to do great things. He has gained the respect of his family, friends, and colleagues through his innovative fitness programs and entrepreneurship developments.

His successes as a football player can be tracked from “Who’s Who” of high school athletes, to Western Illinois University, where he was awarded the “Buck Buchannan Award” as the greatest defensive player in his division. His expected success followed him to the NFL, where he was named as one of the leading Middle Linebackers in the NFL.

His football finale was the UFL, where he led the Las Vegas Locomotives to the championship with the team becoming the 2010 UFL Champions.  

Although he has had a career in football that many would only dream of, the greatest quality he has, is his heart to give back. He is a great supporter and mentor of at risk youth.

His philanthropic roles in the community led to the development of the Big Hart Foundation where he serves as Founder and President. The mission of the Big Hart Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization, is to provide the development of social, ethical and intellectual growth in underprivileged youth by installing pertinent life skills such as Leadership, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect through academic and athletic activities.

He has serviced over 5000 youth through the supports and services created within his foundation where the goal is “To turn the hope of today into the promise of tomorrow”.

Ed Hartwell is not only a man with great talents, but he also has a big personality that people just can’t help but love.  His comedic and engaging personality labels him the life of the atmosphere within his surroundings. As you come to know him, it is not hard to recognize how connected he is spiritually.  When asked what his greatest accomplishment in life is, his astonishing answer was “Giving my life to Christ at a young age.

I feel it set the tone for my life’s success, and being privileged with the stewardship of fatherhood.” Little EJ was born on May 8, 2007 and Ed recalls, “That was definitely up there at the top with my life greatest moments.”
