Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link, Inc. (SEM Link) was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 2005 and its mission is to promote student achievement and career exploration in math and science while increasing student exposure to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) communities. The organization has a a two core program model, Experimental Design Program and Math and Science Career Academy, that enhance the STEM educational experience for K-12 students by providing them with opportunities to engage in hands-on STEM activities, explore STEM careers and learn about real-world applications of STEM. The Experimental Design Program teaches students how to design and conduct experiments for math and science fairs utilizing research, laboratory and scientific literacy skills gained through individual and group learning opportunities as well as mentoring. The Math and Science Career Academy exposes students to math and science through hands-on activities, real-world applications and career exploration. “It is very exciting to see a statewide effort to encourage the citizens of Georgia to donate to charities within the state” said Ms. Tokiwa T.
