Over the course of the next several days she said God started giving her ideas and she came up with the Be a Blessing (B2) Challenge. She challenges people to commit to one random act of kindness per month over the course of one year. The participant buys 12 bracelets and challenge cards, available on her website, that say, “God Loves You.” Those are then given to the recipient of the random act of kindness. Those participating are then asked to return to the website and share what they did each month to inspire others in the challenge with ideas.
With the word spreading only through Facebook, Twitter and other media outlets, people from across more than 27 cities, 13 states and 4 countries have already joined the challenge in just over a month. King says, “This is completely a grass roots movement at this point. But, I expect that very soon God will give us the attention we need to make this go viral.”
Dozens of people participating in the challenge have shared stories such as giving meals to the homeless, sending gifts to families who have lost children from cancer and giving money to people who have lost their job. “There are just stories and pictures coming in from around the world that show there are kind people who want to unite for the better of those in need,” says King.
King hopes to challenge everyday ordinary people from all across the world to let God use them to answer prayers of the homeless, hungry, hurting, sick and forgotten. She believes, “God can use anyone and if you let him, he will bring hope to someone who may not have had any before you showed up.” You can join the Be a Blessing Challenge by visiting her website at Http://www.B2Challenge.com.
