Shutdown and Turnaround: 2nd Global Edition

Turnarounds are expensive - both in terms of lost production from outage and in terms of direct costs for labor, tools, heavy equipments and materials used to execute the project. The budget set aside for a turnaround consumes a significant portion of a plant's yearly maintenance budget and can affect the company's bottom line if mismanaged. The volatile nature of the processes involved in a shutdown adds to this and makes the whole operation highly challenging.

With the single focused aim of addressing the most critical issues faced during plant turnarounds, Praxis Global Research is working along with the Executive Steering Committee to host the second technical event in the Shutdown and Turnaround series.

The Shutdown and Turnaround: 2nd Global Edition taking place in Doha, Qatar from 11 to 13 February, 2013 is aimed for a target audience of shutdown professionals from refineries, petrochemicals’ & gas plants. The Committee follows a unique format to achieve the workshop objective and has divided the 3 days to include master classes, technical sessions involving case study analysis, presentations, live demos from technology providers, and interactive brainstorming sessions.

The 2nd Global Edition follows the hugely successful launch event - 2012 Global Shutdown and Turnaround Workshop hosted in May 2012. The event had heavy operator presence from the region and included Borouge, Qatar Gas, ADGAS, ADMA-OPCO, ADCO, Saudi Aramco, PDO, Petro Rabigh, Sipchem, Dugas, NATPET, Azzawiya Oil Refining Co., Nigeria LNG, Arya Sasol Polymer Co. and included leading technology providers such as Draeger, National Mechanical Engineering Services, GE Power and Water and Sankyu-Manar SA Co. The event served as a platform for sharing operator case studies and presentations and also, facilitated relaxed networking during the cultural evenings.
