BioFach India 2012 4th Edition of Expo opens to showcase Organic potential

A unique Organic Trade Fair from November 29 to December 1, at Palace Grounds. An expo to provide a platform to private, public sectors, buyers, sellers, exhibitors and investors to showcase various products from India and International companies.

Nov. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Honourable Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Shivappa Shettar, Honourable Agriculture Minister Shri Umesh V Katti, and Honourable Horticulture Minister Shri S A Ravindranath, Karnataka, Inaugurated BioFach India 2012, International Organic Trade Fair at Shri Krishna Vihar, Palace Grounds.  Manoj Kumar Menon, Executive Director – International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture and Petra Wolf, Member of Management Board, Numberg Messe, Germany was present during the exposition.

The Honourable Chief Minister  in his address said the main objective of the  Organic  expo, an initiative  to provide a platform where private and public sectors, buyers and sellers and exhibitors and investors can forge a linkage on progressive Organic  agriculture by showcasing various  products from India and International companies. Released “The Directory of Organic Stake Holders– 4th Edition.”  The Directory is the best complilation of Organic Business and Producers.

The Organiser  hope that the  fourth edition of expo would promote trade and industrial activities and will  strive to become an “Event in the National calendar” so that  ideas takes place  to build better   Organic agriculture  and allied sectors. The successful conduct of the earlier editions of BioFach India Organic Expo has opened opportunities for meaningful interface and knowledge sharing among farmers, traders, and Organic Business companies.

BioFach India is organising a Seminar focusing on development and issues surrounding Organic Agriculture titled “ORGANIC MOVEMENT – DRIVING SUSTAINABILITY FORWARD” and will be a unique convergence of eminent speakers from India and outside India showing light on policy matters, furnishing facts and figures to prove that Organic Agriculture can sustain and feed the world.  The other issues include technologies for increasing productivity and income for the farmers.

Manoj Kumar Menon, said that “while the main objective of the organic-expo is to showcase potentials of Organic agriculture and allied sectors in various states in the country and to develop strategies to achieve self-sufficiency, manage marketable surplus and promote knowledge-sharing and technology transfer, and simultaneously, we aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation.  He noted that there is a perceptible increase in awareness amongst the farmers of the region on the dynamics of free market economy both within and outside the country.

Prominent Indian companies in the Organic Sector  like Sresta Natural Bioproducts Ltd  in addition to retail trade activities through its brand 24 Mantra label in the domestic market and are big in exporting  of Organic food . The other company Morarka Organic Foods Pvt Ltd caters and produce organic food and textiles of organic cotton and silk.  It operates its lable “Down to Earth” retail concept and intends to increase the availability of organic and natural products to meet the increasing demand.  

Farmers and entrepreneurs from all the states are taking part in the expo. Official sources said 141 exhibitors have registered in the 4th organic expo, a marked increase from the previous year’s BioFach India Exposition.
