SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (November 29, 2012) – With a focus on improving the way industry
professionals contact models about job opportunities, ModelVP announced the release of its
latest software iteration this morning. In its latest update, ModelVP introduces spam-free
messaging to its Facebook fashion portfolio-viewing application. Using a pre-screening
application process, and crowd-sourced spam detection, ModelVP seeks to reduce the
proliferation of spam which has traditionally troubled competitor sites such as ModelMayhem.
“While a major goal is to help create job opportunities and relationships, we want to ensure we
maintain the privacy and professionalism of any models whom represent themselves on
ModelVP,” said Paul Vazquez, ModelVP co-founder and CEO. “Accordingly, we review the
professional background of those trying to reach out to models.”
Launching its beta release in July 2012, ModelVP was created to provide a platform for
professional and aspiring models to expand their networks and increase their exposure through
social media. While initially the application focused on the sleek, visual presentation of the
models’ portfolios, today’s iteration allows industry professionals to contact models directly if
interested in working together. To protect models from spam and potential scams, ModelVP
requires all users to pass a pre-approval process before being allowed to contact a model.
While this update includes additional enhancements to photo-sizing and load speed, there is
much more that ModelVP’s developers are working on for the coming months.
When asked about the company’s youth and steady growth, Vazquez shares his eager
anticipation. “The goal is to be the best social modeling network in the world,” he explains. “Our
developers are already working on our next iteration, and our company has no plan for a ‘final
product.’ Innovation has no finish line.”
