Presented as “Building 21st Century Service-Oriented Airports” over a two hour period, Mr. Kumar explained how Oracle’s Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions were adopted by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) to automate Orlando International Airport’s business processes and integrate its airport systems, such as flights, airlines, passengers, gates, baggage systems, public address and other enterprise systems. The project, named AIDB (Airport Integration Data Broker), is the first step toward building the airport as an Oracle SOA solutions airport.
In 2011, AST was honored by Oracle as a recipient of an Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Titan Award, which recognized AST's achievement in developing and implementing the AIDB SOA solution for GOAA. Oracle's very selective and competitive Specialized Partner of the Year Awards (formerly Titan Awards) salute the innovative solutions and business achievements of OPN partners.
Mr. Kumar's presentation provided an in-depth case study of GOAA, which included experiences, lessons learned, challenges and best practices established
by the project. It is available through the AST Corporation website at: http://www.astcorporation.com/
