The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship is Rice University’s nationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of technology commercialization, entrepreneurship education, and the launch of technology companies.  The Rice Alliance Technology Venture Forums provide emerging technology companies in the four areas of Life Science, Energy and Clean Technology, Information Technology and Nanotechnology, an opportunity to showcase their innovations before an audience of early-stage investors, venture capitalists and industry leaders.

SPOTS Tracking Systems represents a new generation of collaborative and flexible workflow management software that combines the benefits of traditional rigid-workflow management software with the flexibility of task management software. Their objective is to help companies improve the productivity and profitability of their business by providing a system that increases the efficiency, control and visibility of their operations while lowering headcount, inventory and cost.

SPOTS innovative “Flexible Workflow” approach merges collaboration and social media elements with classical organizational frameworks, which results in a user-directed, self-mapping approach to business process management.  SPOTS is leading the way in the change from enterprise “systems of record” like ERP’s to collaborative “systems of engagement” that are designed to help employees and managers manage their processes, controls and costs.

SPOTS will be showcasing their new cloud-based version of their business process management software.  More information can be found here http://spotstrackingsystems.com
