Guests at Jess’s Greek Eats can choose from traditional lamb and tzatziki gyros, signature pita wraps, fresh Greek and tabouli salads, hummus with warm pita, feta and spinach spanakopita, stuffed grapes leaves or their “modern twist on Greece” signature pizzas. Tucked away in Granville, Jess’s Greek Eats is intimate and creates a mom-and-pop atmosphere that keeps customers coming back, much like Velvet Ice Cream lovers.
The eight showcased Velvet Ice Cream flavors nicely compliment Jess’s Greek Eats’ sweet baklava, warm apple pita wrap and cinnamon sugar pita. Signature flavors, Olde Tyme Vanilla, Buckeye Classic, Moose Tracks and Raspberry Fudge Cordial will be served along with seasonal favorites. Milkshakes are also new to the menu and Velvet Ice Cream’s creamy and rich flavors will enhance every shake.
Wow guests over the holidays with this Velvet Mimosa Holiday Fizz recipe:
• 1 pint VELVET Mimosa Sherbet
• 1 liter orange-flavored soda, regular or diet, chilled
• 1 fresh orange, sliced
• Colored holiday sugar
Assembly:
Place any color of holiday sugar into a small, flat dish. Dip the stemware into the fresh orange soda and then into sugar, creating a colorful sugar rim on each glass. In a pitcher, combine the orange soda and sherbet. Stir well and pour into sugar-rimmed stemware. Place a slice of fresh orange on the rim for garnish.
Velvet Ice Cream is located in Utica, Ohio, situated on the perfect combination of wooded countryside and rolling, pastoral farmland. A family-owned and operated business for nearly 100 years, Joseph Dager founded Velvet Ice Cream 1914 and four generations of Dagers have since run the company. Velvet produces more than five million gallons of ice cream every year from its headquarters on the 25-acre grounds of Ye Olde Mill.
Ye Olde Mill also houses an ice cream and milling museum, a restaurant, playground, picnic area and catch-and-release fish pond. Named by Frommer's as one of America’s 10 Best Ice Cream Factory Tours, Velvet's Ye Olde Mill welcomes 150,000 visitors each year for tours, tastings and events. The annual Ice Cream Festival (May 25-27, 2013), group tour experiences and school learning field trips are among the many draws to Ye Olde Mill, which is open to the public May 1-October 31.
