Nov. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Cicero, Illinois – Public servant and active community leader, Lizveth Mendez, kicked off her candidacy for Cicero Town President on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Klas Restaurant in Cicero, Illinois.

After eight years of faithful public service to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, Mendez has taken an unpaid leave of absence to become the next Cicero Town President. Her goal is to restore values in public service by bringing in a new generation of values-based leadership to her community.

“Now is the time for real change and values-based leadership in Cicero. Larry Dominick is not doing the job, and we need new direction to chart the course for our town,” said Mendez.

A decade-long resident of Cicero, Lizveth Mendez, is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and recently earned an Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Lizveth grew up in Little Village, Chicago, but has called Cicero her hometown for over a decade. Lizveth served as Latino Affairs Liaison under the leadership of Attorney General Lisa Madigan for eight years and currently sits on the Mujeres de HACE Advisory Board.

Lizveth is available for media interviews at any time following the announcement.
