Boynton Beach – November XX, 2012 – Genesis Community Health is proud to announce the addition of Ron Vanderwey to its Board of Directors.
Vanderwey is a senior vice president with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and graduate alum of Florida Atlantic University, where he earned a Master’s in Business Administration.
“I have a personal interest in serving the core needs of the community with the love of Christ,” Vanderwey said.
Vanderwey also serves as director of Lake Worth Christian School and as a member/youth leader of Lake Worth Christian Reformed Church.
“The board of Genesis is excited to welcome the caliber and talent of our new members; each of them brings a unique and skilled perspective to the needs of our organization,”
Genesis Community Health, located at 564 E. Woolbright Road, Boynton Beach, is one of 219 health centers across the country that received Affordable Care Act funding in June 2012 to help expand access to care for more than 1.25 million additional patients and create approximately 5,640 jobs nationwide.
Genesis is a Florida 501 c 3 non-profit organization created to promote and provide health care to people of all economic levels, with special sensitivity to the needs of economically disadvantaged people of diverse cultural backgrounds in and around Palm Beach County. Genesis is an access point of care for patients who traditionally do not have adequate access to the health care system. Genesis is currently funded through the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Quantum Foundation.
Genesis was formed in 2009 in response to a community needs assessment conducted by a consulting group that identified Boynton Beach as an area of need and that there was a severe lack of access to primary care for residents. This need was based upon evaluation of services available, high incidence of poverty and uninsured in the area, and high usage of the emergency room for primary care services.
