"(France) performed without inhibitions - and without shoes - wowing the judges with his dexterity, creativity and boundless collection of spine-tingling riffs and bends," Fanelli writes about France's winning performance in Los Angeles.
As far as the guitarist's affinity to playing barefooted, France explains in the article: "The first thing you do when you get home and relax is lose the shoes. I want that same feeling onstage. I'd like to think it's a Kentucky thing - easy going and relaxed."
France's feature is on page 32 of the December issue, currently on sale.
"Being featured in Guitar World is dream come true for this guitar player from Kentucky! I've had so many dreams come true during the last few months," France says of his Battle of the Blues win. "But the Guitar World article is definitely one of the sweetest."
The guitarist travels to Los Angeles in early December for two days of recording with Grammy-winning producer Pete Anderson, compliments of Guitar Center. He'll return to Southern California in late January to the NAMM Show, where he's scheduled to play at the Guitar Center in Orange, Calif., as well as in the booths of several of his endorsers, including Egnater Amplifiers and Gibson Guitars. The last week of January, the Boscoe France Band will be in Memphis for the International Blues Challenge, where the trio will compete with hundreds of other blues musicians in one of the most respected music competitions in the world.
