The launch has started with the Medical Center’s hospitalist group, led by Medical Director J.D. Littleton, D.O. Before implementing impower on November 16, the group used a paper charge capture and billing system, which generally results in fewer charges captured and lost revenue.
Over the last three years, J.D. Littleton, D.O., has been a champion for Ingenious Med’s solutions, as he had used the software in other facilities before he came to Jennie Stuart. After a variety of cost benefit analyses and projected improvement reports, the team was able to go live smoothly and easily.
The hospitalist group, which was already high performing with low readmission and length of stay rates, expects to improve their documentation and billing and improve general analysis and annual reporting. Starla Stavely, the group’s Medical Records Director, cites impower’s Master Coder 2.0 tool as being a major highlight of the software, which will lay a good foundation for the transition to ICD-10. Another highlight for the group was working with Ingenious Med’s team, who were patient and respectful throughout the sales and implementations process. Adoption of the software has been high since launch date.
