Google has released the latest version of the Google Panda and barely a month after its release, almost 2.5% of questions posed on search engines in English have been affected. When it rolled out, many people were not aware that it was functioning;
Matt Cutts from Google stated that the update started function in late September, the 29th to be exact and while most people thought the upgrade would be a data increase, it was actually an algorithm update. He also informed the press that apart from English, which would be affected the most at 2.4%, other major languages like French and Spanish will be affected, although at 0.5%. In an effort to set fair standards, some tech experts say it has also affected honest companies which did not utilize SEO tricks.
The updates come as a pair; Google Panda and Exact Domain update. As Matt explained, one could understand that these are two different updates. Chris Crum from WebProNews begs to differ. He explained that EMD (Exact Match Domain) update and Google Panda update are similar updates. How? Both updates target low quality web content and lower the rankings. Crum continued by stating that to recover from an EMD update, all that was required is to improve the quality of the content.
