Ring in the holidays with Peter Tavino and Friends as they perform a staged radio performance of Charles Dicken’s classic A Christmas Carol. The story tells of a sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge’s ideological, ethical, and emotional transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. This novella published on December 19, 1843, met with instant success and critical acclaim to become one of the best-loved Christmas stories.
This radio broadcast aired on December 24, 1939 and featured Lionel Barrymore as Scrooge, the Mercury Theater Group, and Orson Wells as narrator. Cast members in this reading include Jim Stedronsky, David Wilson, Father Robert Tucker, Anna Marie Wilson, Kate Baldwin, Ed Doyle, John Endicott, Howard Kerpelman, Elizabeth Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Brendan Wilson, Bill Savoia, Alan Cohen, Peter Tavino and more with music by Justyn Zitnay.
