PRLog - Nov. 27, 2012 - Specialising in reclaiming consumers’ money when they have been mis-sold financial products – such as Endowments, PPI, and Savings & Investments – EMCAS, has relocated to the former Taunton and Somerset Hospital, East Reach House, to allow for future growth.

The expansion represents a significant milestone for the company, which has helped more than 430,000 people reclaim over £350 million since its inception in 2003. The business, which has grown considerably in the last 12 months, wanted to maintain its strong South West roots and looked at a number of areas across the region.
Chief Executive of EMCAS, Craig Bernhardt, commented on the move, “Taunton was chosen early on in our expansion planning process because of its diverse and readily available pool of talent. It is also close to our other offices in Torquay, Paignton and Exeter.
“We then set out to find somewhere that was near the heart of the town, close to local amenities and easy to reach by public transport. East Reach House satisfied all of these requirements and we and have since created a working environment that will help all of our new employees thrive.”
Mr Bernhardt confirmed that a number of organisations have helped ensure their move into the town was as smooth as possible, including Into Somerset. Chief Executive of Into Somerset, Rupert Cox, said, “When EMCAS was deliberating whether to open an office in either Plymouth, Bristol or Taunton, Into Somerset worked closely with the company to demonstrate Taunton’s solid history of providing employment in this sector.
“Into Somerset provided the firm with information on five premises that met with their requirements for size and access. One of the premises had the appropriate infrastructure in place, meaning EMCAS could set up business quickly and efficiently. Its move to Somerset is a welcome and significant investment into the county, with the potential to create over 100 jobs in the town. Into Somerset is delighted to have assisted EMCAS with its successful move to Taunton and wish the business good luck.”
Already one of the top 500 companies in the South West and employing more 300 people across the region, EMCAS has recently received recognition as one of the Top 150 businesses in Devon and Cornwall, thanks to its growth and efforts to raise standards and practices across the financial claims management industry. It is also considered one of the South West’s leading employers, having been recognised as ‘One to Watch’ for two years running, reported in The Sunday Times ‘Best Companies to Work For.’
Into Somerset offers a tailored business relocation service, giving advice and information to facilitate the process. To find out more about the opportunities Somerset can offer, or for advice and guidance on setting up a business in Somerset, call on 0845 1222 066 or visit www.intosomerset.co.uk.
