According to IMA Executive Director Karen Renk, “The Social Responsibility Award recognizes incentive suppliers that have gone above and beyond in their efforts to have socially responsible practices and policies, to actively protect the environment, and to contribute to the welfare of the local and global community.”
O.C. Tanner was chosen for the IMA Social Responsibility Award for its leadership in several specific areas, including its comprehensive employee diversity and philanthropic activities, earmarking at least 10 percent of profits annually for local and national charities. In addition, the company was recognized for its award-winning environmental policies and practices at its facilities, as well as within its supply chain and product lineup. O.C. Tanner’s economic and social justice activities include its partnership with Americana Artisans, which distributes all profits to environmental and humanitarian causes in Central America, and its participation in the Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism, along with an extensive supplier audit process to insure adherence to labor and human rights standards.
