Nov. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- FRISCO,Colo., November 26, 2012-   The Holiday Inn Summit County hotel, based out of Frisco, Colorado, is taking a deeper step into the philanthropic community this holiday season.  It is a chance for the newly renovated hotel to support organizations both locally and globally.

Susan G. Komen, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is an organization dedicated to education about the causes, treatment and search for the cure for breast cancer.  This past October marked the 28th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a global stride to help women feel empowered to take charge of their personal breast health and to gain awareness of the community in the fight to defeat breast cancer.  The Holiday Inn Summit County began raising money on October 1, 2012 through Facebook "likes" on their business page www.facebook.com/holidayinnfrisco. For every like the hotel received on this social media outlet, $1 was donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  The effort to raise this money and support cancer research was huge a success, bringing in over $450 in 1 month to the organization.  The hotel will continue to raise $1 per "like" until the end of March 2013 when the annual Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer event will be held in the Town of Frisco.  This event continuously brings in thousands of participants dressed in pink tutu’s and feather boas to many different cities in the United States.  This year, the Holiday Inn Summit County will host the annual Pink Party, an event dedicated to breast cancer awareness information, vendors and a lot of delicious food.

The Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "promote stable families."  This December, the Holiday Inn Summit County will donate non-perishable items such as cans of soup and boxes of macaroni to FIRC to help families in need.  Two donation boxes are located in the lobby of the hotel.  In January, the hotel team plans to spend a volunteer event giving back to the community again by helping with the FIRC food bank.

The Holiday Inn Summit County is located at 1129 N Summit Blvd, Frisco, Co 80443.  For more information on how to donate $1 to Susan G. Komen or food to FIRC, please contact Marketing Director KD Kaiser at kdkaiser@newvisionhotels.com.
