Help Georgetown Memorial Hospital meet the demand for blood Friday, Dec. 7, in the GMH private dining room on the first floor. All blood types are needed as the holiday season gets underway. In fact, approximately every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.
Members of the public can donate blood from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. To avoid waiting, people can schedule appointments by calling 843.527.7173 or going to http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.
In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and be at least 17 years old.
