Nov. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Firecomms, a global leader in the provision of fiber optic solutions and optical transceivers, at the upcoming SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nuremberg will demonstrate how the company’s new RedLink® and LC fiber optic transceivers (http://firecomms.com/products-industrial.html) are ideally suited for automation applications.  On the Firecomms stand attendees will be shown a simulated factory floor demonstration that incorporates POF- and HCS-enabled devices at all network management layers.  Firecomms also will showcase its new range of industrial hardened fiber optic transceivers and cable assemblies in a multi-operation network that includes Industrial Ethernet and field I/O solutions.

Firecomms’ product showcase will include the recently announced RedLink® series of DC-capable transmitters and receivers for industrial command and control applications, which are drop-in compatible with the Versatile Link range of products.  Firecomms RedLink range is perfect for low-speed and DC-capable applications, such as IGBT/Thyristor control and fault feedback or field I/O, in areas where immunity from harmful EMI or high voltage signals is required.

The first LC connectors designed for use with POF and other large core glass fibers such as HCS® also will be included in Firecomms’ product showcase.  Known for its compact form factor, the LC connector is widely used in the optical networking industry.  The company specifically developed the LC product range due to its recognized durability and reliability for industrial automation applications.

Complementing its range of LC products, Firecomms innovative OptoLock® fiber optic transceivers are included in the network demonstration.  Both LC- and OptoLock-terminated solutions are fitting for Ethernet- or TCP/IP-based applications at 125 Mbps, and can be used for proprietary link solutions at 10 Mbps, 250 Mbps or even up to 1.25 Gbps.

In addition to its industrial fiber optic transceivers, Firecomms offers an accompanying line of cable assembly solutions to enable quick field installations without extensive training.  A full listing of new Firecomms products is available at www.firecomms.com.

“The SPS IPC Drives exhibition highlights the need for extremely reliable and resilient equipment for automation applications,” says Hugh Hennessy, Firecomms Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  “We’re pleased to have this opportunity to demonstrate our rugged fiber optic transceiver solutions that are specially designed to meet the challenges of harsh industrial environments faced by the equipment providers attending SPS.  As will be shown by the expanded range of products on display at SPS, Firecomms has deep knowledge of the requirements of this market segment.”

Firecomms will showcase OptoLock together with its new LC and RedLink products on its booth at the SPS IPC Drives exhibition (Hall 10-Booth #506) to be held on November 27-29 in Nuremberg, Germany.

All Firecomms’ transmitters, including RedLink, LC and OptoLock, leverage the company’s well known Resonant Cavity LED (RCLED) and in-house IC design technology to provide excellent long term reliability in lifetime performance.

Firecomms’ optical transceiver products offer superior galvanic isolation and EMI immunity over traditional copper electrical signaling links. Optical cables also provide the added benefit of significant weight reductions and minimized field install complexity.
