Nov. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Clarksburg, Maryland, November 21, 2012 - Barbara Strawson and her Grand Prix Holsteiner gelding, Amicelli have found a permanent base in Clarksburg, Maryland.

Strawson and her husband, Brian, both natives of Maryland, have purchased a property in Clarksburg, MD. “We found a property that we fell in love with, and thought it would make the perfect home for my up-and-coming and future campaign horses as well as accommodating the type of educational and training curricula we envisioned.”   Strawson’s facility, 15 acres nestled in the Little Bennett Regional Park, will be built out over the next year to accommodate a full-size indoor arena and a limited number of stalls.

In tandem with the purchase of her property, Strawson developed an alliance partnership with WindCrest Farm, also in Clarksburg.   “DeDe Bierbrauer and I discovered that our philosophies and visions for future programs were very similar, and decided to join forces so we could both accomplish all of our goals and support others at the same time”, said Strawson.

While Strawson’s facility is being completed over the next year, all campaign horses and horses in training will be based at WindCrest Farm.  TeamStrawson is excited to continue providing high quality training and instruction.  “We are very excited about the expanded possibilities. The Bierbrauers and I have already worked on establishing a first-class instructional/clinic calendar for next year, while staying in tune with the ongoing competitive requirements of the horses and riders.  WindCrest has a very supportive and positive atmosphere that allows each component to shine while ensuring that everyone’s needs are met. Besides, I feel I have come full circle. I competed in my very first dressage show at WindCrest Farm, so we have a strong connection.”

WindCrest Farm was established in 1975 in upper Montgomery County’s historic horse country, and is owned by “R” Judge DeDe Bierbrauer and her husband Peter. WindCrest has prided itself on the development of the serious dressage horse and rider through the establishment of a strong base in correct training, as well as providing the community with ongoing advancement opportunities through clinics and shows. WindCrest Farm was one of the first to host Col. Bengt Ljungquist, the Swedish dressage master credited with bringing dressage to the United States. WindCrest has continued the tradition of proper education for all - no matter what level of rider or breed of horse. The facility has all the amenities necessary to accommodate clinics, shows, seminars, special events, and exhibitions.

Barbara Strawson is an FEI Grand Prix dressage competitor, trainer, and instructor who has brought her 20 years of experience to training and competing horses from USDF Training level through FEI Grand Prix. Earning her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals as well as her USDF Silver Freestyle Bar, Barbara continues to seek out and provide excellent levels of education.
